Description
Showcasing fine art & distinctive crafts mainly created in the UK
Cathedral Gallery is situated directly opposite St John the Baptist Church known as 'The Cathedral of the Peak' and is housed in one of the oldest buildings in Tideswell, which, from circa 1746 to 1816, was the orginally 'House of Correction' and in more recent years a Restaurant.
In 2006 it was converted to an Art & Craft Gallery, which opened in May 2006. The building, with its quaint, uneven, walls and beamed ceilings, creates a wonderful location to showcase the work of many talented artists and craft workers, mostly, from around the British Isle.
Showcased in the gallery is a comprehensive range of art & craft from 'home grown' talent along with a few internationally famous artists. |
